Do you not know that the runners in the stadium all run in the race, but only one wins the prize? Run so as to win. Every athlete exercises discipline in every way. They do it to win a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one. Thus I do not run aimlessly; I do not fight as if I were shadowboxing. No, I drive my body and train it, for fear that, after having preached to others, I myself should be disqualified. - 1 Cor 9:24-27

Conquering the "Heroic Moment"

Have you ever heard of the "Heroic Moment"?  The moment when your alarm goes off or the sun wakes you up ... and you struggle to get out of bed.  You know you should, but just a few more moments of sleep are begging to be had.

Depression, stress, tiredness, and loneliness have plagued me for the past four weeks.

I'm at 36 weeks now and I'm starting to wonder if I'll make it to the end with my sanity and strength still intact.

Today, I am hopeful.  The last two days now, I've conquered the "Heroic Moment" and I feel so good about that small accomplishment:  waking up at sunrise and walking two miles.
